Opuntia santa-rita, commonly known as the Purple Prickly Pear, features broad, rounded pads with a distinctive blue-green coloration that can develop vibrant purple tones in response to sunlight and cooler temperatures. Its sculptural, branching growth habit and contrasting spines create a striking appearance as the plant matures.

Plant Care

Acclimation

Plants may experience some stress while adjusting to a new environment. Allow your plant time to acclimate and avoid repotting immediately unless necessary. Provide appropriate light, temperature, and watering based on the plant’s individual needs. Minor drooping, yellowing, or leaf loss during acclimation can be normal.
